Never, Never, NEVER underestimate the importance of a strong 'About' page. This is likely to be a prospective client's first impression of you, so you want to make sure you put yourself across in the right way. Here are a few points for polishing up that all important webpage:
So you're thinking about getting a new website? Where should you even start?! Funny you should ask - I have put together a little something to help you get a bit more clarity on the style and content of your site.
As small business owners, we find ourselves in charge of many different aspects of our business – many of which we would never have given much thought to before we took the leap. You and I both know all too well the importance of working smart. With that in mind, here is my list of FREE tools for small businesses.
Many moons ago, I had a boyfriend who would say “I'll plan the day when it's over, that way I know the day will have gone exactly to plan”. At the time, I would laugh fondly, thinking “of course everything would go to plan if you plan it backwards! How could it not?!” As time goes by, I realise how much wisdom there was in this way of thinking...
I don't know about you, but I always like to take the opportunity in these weird few days between Christmas and New Year to take a step back and look at how the last year went, and what I want from the one coming.
I always find it extremely useful to spend some time setting intentions for the New Year, for my work and for every other aspect of my life. I find that these keep me on track with the things that are important to me, whether it be a daily meditation practice, journalling or sticking to a default diary to keep my work on track.
Building a brand is one of the biggest and most important you will encounter in getting your business up and running. Starting out on your own is tough, and for the majority of us, we know very little about branding. It is important to work out some things before you get to work on creating your website or marketing. It all started with a juice fast...
... in fact, more accurately, it started with the start of a 3 day juice fast. I was so keen to be super kind to my body and spurred on by a small community of people doing a juice fast with Causeway Living. It got most of the way through the first day and then I started to feel super drained and realised that it would be a choice of 3 days of fuel for my health or for my business, and was VERY unlikely to be both. So I made a choice that those days would be better spent concentrating on Deha Visuals, at first this seemed to have been a good choice.
After a couple of weeks of radio silence, I can finally tell you where Deha Visuals is currently located and a little bit about what I am doing. Up till now I have been having a few days to myself to reboot and unplug. This included a few days in Bangkok, an epic train ride and a week or so in Koh Samui.
At the weekend I was lucky enough to be an official photographer at both the World Yoga Festival and the Yoga Garden Party. Both boasted stunning locations and (mostly) glorious weather.
